I was an account executive early in my advertising career until I realized the roll of “suit” didn't quite suit me. There was a force out there telling me to do what I loved to do: write.

To convince those on the creative side that I could do what they did, I had to show them that I could. So I created this ad for myself. I was writer, art director, photographer and model.

It wasn't long before I had a big garage sale at which I sold all my suits and most of my ties and used the money to buy a new self-correcting Smith Corona to use in my new job as a copywriter.
